“April prepares her green traffic light and the world thinks Go.” ~Christopher Morley, John Mistletoe
As spring blooms throughout Acworth, businesses and local leaders begin to buzz with excitement, anticipating what’s to come. The beautiful weather and budding blooms routinely awakens my creativity and inspires me to find new ways to promote my business. How about you? Do you ever take a step back and asses your current marketing plan? With spring in the air and bright colors scattered throughout the landscapes it’s easy to find exciting new ideas for promotion.
The Acworth Business Association takes advantage of this season and the beautiful weather through events and festivals. We look for creative locations for our monthly Alive After 5 events to encourage networking in the sunshine. In March we celebrated the Ribbon Cutting at Brix on Main in conjunction with our Alive After 5 on their beautiful new patio. On April 13th we will host on the roof top at Huey Luey’s and in May we are looking forward to an awesome kick off to Rotary’s Smoke on the Lake with our Alive After 5 at YMCA’s Camp High Harbor. When we take an opportunity as business owners to kick back and enjoy the company of one another, relationships are built. Through those relationships come partnerships and the more we put into those partnerships the more we get out of them.
In addition to our nicely stacked schedule for Alive After 5 events, we are looking forward to our annual ABA Golf Tournament on Tuesday, April 18th at Cobblestone Golf Course. Are you a golfer? Sign up for this fun filled day at www.acworthbusiness.org. Each year this tournament grows more and more. This year we have added several local restaurants to serve as Tee Tasters throughout the tournament. We will also have local businesses competing for the Best Booth/Tee Experience and we will host a live auction during lunch! Money raised through this tournament is fed directly back into the children of the Acworth Community with a donation to The Horizon Field.
At our March Luncheon, Christopher Coleman shared an inspirational story with us and challenged members and guests of our organization to “Get out of their Wheelchair.” He reminded us that everyone has a purpose. Sometimes we spend more time focusing on what is restricting us and our personal limitations than we spend contemplating how to achieve our goals. Christopher encouraged us to open our eyes to the bigger picture and to trust the journey. The road less traveled often has speed bumps and detours, but if you maintain your focus and remember that you have a purpose in this life the journey will be much more enjoyable. I ask you, what is it that is preventing you from being who you want to be and reaching your goals? It is so important to trust your purpose and respect the journey. The rest will fall into place.
